Launch BaseCamp and click 'File' in the upper left corner to open the File drop-down menu. Click 'Import' on the File drop-down menu. 4 years agoI keep seeing references to people to use www.GPSfiledepot.com for their free maps that can be used for garmin GPS devices. However, I'm trying to view these maps in garmin's basecamp program.
So far I have about 5 different programs installed in my attempt to make sense of how to actually use the .img files the website gives you. Garmin's basecamp doesn't use .img files and getting them to work in it is quite frustrating and I still haven't figured it out.
So how do you go about doing this? Considering this gets brought up everytime someone asks/talks about GPS' it seems like it'd be an easy process but it seems extremely difficult and time consuming.
